This was a garden that was initially totally unsuitable for children and adults. There was a serious safety factor with a very steep rockery with broken steps and an old empty concrete pond, which was 6ft deep.
There was very little planting in the garden and an overgrown leylandii hedge running all the way across any useable space making the garden feel claustrophobic and dark. The levels were very drastic which made very little of the garden useable.
We redesigned the garden to create a multilevel area with planting and pathways to a top platform to look down and across the space.
We used sleepers as a material to create these areas, which has been very successful.
A new patio was created on the middle level to catch the sun, a small lawn was included and a Childs bark play area. The planting was to be predominantly low maintenance and evergreen with some perennials and bulbs to give year round colour.
